Twizy Renault Sport F1 Concept Car
Twizy Renault Sport F1 concept car, when I reach Electrical anabolic
This was anticipated by Renault surprise a few days ago … A vitamin-Twizy, which has been integrated regenerative braking system more aggressive style used in Formula 1. An apparatus has also changed its aesthetic by incorporating some aerodynamic appendages composed exageradísimos skirts, front spoiler, rear spoiler and diffuser.
Extra-wide slick tires, specific suspension and settle this beast aesthetic touch that (insult me ??if you want) and I like my attention, if only for the weird and quirky.
But if you “motivate” salives not too much because it will not be for sale to the street, at least for now. It is a kind of concept to draw attention to electric technology and the Renault Twizy.
Thanks to the new KERS system, with new battery, extra motor-generator (eighty horses) and new power management logic in the vehicle. Thus, the average Twizy 17 horses go momentarily be no less than 100 press a button and release the KERS energy bonus.
This extra power is available for about 13 seconds, allowing you to accelerate in the 0-100 per hour as fast as a Megane RS. That means that does 0 to 100 in six seconds. The maximum speed is modified Twizy to 110 km / h.
The driver can choose from two operating modes. In one, the engine of KERS, the eighty horses, works as a generator in the retention, taking the job of stopping the vehicle mainly. When the driver presses a button the extra power used on this engine generator, which is coupled to the engine “conventional” Twizy, to assist in the work of pushing the vehicle forward.
The wheel of the Twizy also changes, and in addition to the buttons to change the operating mode of KERS, can also choose the amount of power “extra” delivered when shooting the same button, so we can have five different power levels available. The less power we ask, the longer the “chute” power.
91 kilos are hanging over the Twizy with this system and other aerodynamic aditamientos. The car will delight viewers who go to the World Series by Renault, which will spin on circuits demonstrating their skills.
Come on, this is another marketing product, like the famous Espace F1, or the Juke R, designed to leave us with an open mouth, and draw attention to the model “conventional and civilized”.

Nissan Called Qashqai Review Some Units And The NV200 in Spain
The car firm Nissan has recalled in Spain some units of Qashqai models and NV200, due to a defect in the steering wheel that can affect the direction of the vehicle, according to the association FACUA-Consumers in Action in a statement.
This campaign, according to the consumer, affects units of these models made this year. Thus, the call will be used to review the NV200 produced between February 27 and April 20 and Qashqai units manufactured between February 20 and May 16.
The problem detected is the chance that the wheel adapter that connects it with the steering column does not have adequate hardness, which can cause the workpiece to separate from the column, causing a loss of steering.
FACUA-Consumers in Action noted that Nissan Iberia has informed the consumer protection authorities in Catalonia this situation and the measures that have been taken in this regard and provide for review and, if necessary, replacement of the defective part.

Car Brands That Smell Good
The beauty of car is no longer a sole matter of the eyes or the ears. While customers used to choose their new ride by the looks, the model, horsepower or engine sound, drivers can now smell their favourite – and we don’t mean by the petrol smell. Advertisement experts have developed corporate fragrances so customers can recognize each car brand with their nose.
What seems like a crazy marketing gag has turned into a mainstream branding strategy of car manufacturers. Buying a new car has turned into an all-round experience for our senses.
The idea behind the corporate perfume is that scents and smells create a longer lasting memory than sight or touch. A familiar scent can bring us back to our childhood, it can make us remember things that we thought long lost in some corner of our brains. Fragrances play a vital role in what we drink and what we eat. No one wants to eat smelly food (besides old Swiss cheese, maybe). We choose our fruits and vegetables in the market by their scent. We are more tempted to buy bread in a bakery where the freshly baked oven smell still lingers in the air.
According to marketing experts, scents are not only important for food. They play an important role for other products, too. Researchers found that scent can add extra 30 seconds to the amount of time a shopper lingers by a product and the use of smell can make us three times more likely to actually buy something as opposed to just looking. Although we are surrounded by approximately 10,000 different aromas every day, we are more deeply affected by the things we smell.
The idea of brand fragrances has been around for almost a decade now but just recently car manufacturers have started using scents as part of their marketing mix. Ferrari developed its brand scent not long ago and Mercedes-Benz has launched its own fragrance which is appropriately named “Mercedes-Benz.”
Mitsubishi went one step further and used fragrances for specific car series. The Japanese auto maker published leather-scented adverts that allegedly increased sales of its Lancer Envo X model by 16 percent.
Corporate fragrances are on the rise, even if secretly. Only a few companies admit openly to use scents. It might be the lack of detailed numbers and success stories or that no one wants to be accused of a lack of compassion towards those with chemical hypersensitivities or asthma. Plus, most of the advertisement is now done via TV, radio or online on the brand’s homepage such as the Mercedes-Benz cars website. But the next time you enter a showroom, don’t only see but smell.

The Benefits of a Hybrid Car
Everyone’s heard of hybrid cars, but not many people take the time to fully realise the benefits. Whether it’s the financial or environmental advantages, or simply considering it as investment for the future, there are a number of advantages that can’t be found on strictly-petrol based vehicles.
Hybrid cars also aren’t brand new, either. The technology has been around for a while; the first full hybrid released was in 2004 by Lexus. This technology has then been refined, developed and improved to the modern standard that it is today. An increasingly popular alternative to petrol focused vehicles; the hybrid car is fast becoming the popular mode of driving.
Environmental
One of the more obvious benefits of driving a hybrid car is the environmental advantage. A typical petrol based car is very harmful to the environment. The emissions from the exhaust damage the atmosphere, which in turn leads to global warming and all its related problems.
A hybrid car, however, uses electric power when it can. For instance, a lot of hybrid cars use the electric motor where possible, saving petrol for high speeds, such as when on the motorway. This way, most of your driving is generally powered by the electric motor, greatly reducing your emissions. Since there are fewer emissions, your overall carbon footprint and damage to the environment is greatly diminished.
Financial
Due to its environmental benefits, there are also a number of advantages that can be gained from a hybrid car. Because of its low emissions, hybrid cars often receive a greatly reduced road tax. This varies on the car, but the more recent vehicles will generally receive the most reductions. Furthermore, these cars are also often exempt from other charges, notably the London congestion charge.
Additionally, you can also consider the financial benefits from saving petrol. Fuel has, unfortunately, become more expensive over the years. As a limited resource, it’s safe to assume that its price isn’t going to become too cheap any time soon.
As such, any vehicle that relies on less fuel will save you a small fortune. Few cars save fuel less than a hybrid car. Hybrid cars are intelligently designed to use the electric motor as much as possible. Even when using the petrol motor for higher speeds, the electric motor is still often used for the likes of acceleration. So, even when you’re using petrol, the electric motor prevents you from wasting excess fuel on anything other than simply driving.
An investment
All of this, of course, saves you money as you’ll find yourself filling the tank up much less often. The longer you own the car, the more money you’ll save. Whether it’s through reduced taxes, reliable insurance or the simple matter of not using as much petrol, saving money is never a bad thing. In many ways, this makes a hybrid car an investment. If you’re going to be driving one car for the foreseeable future, then you want a vehicle that works in your favour.
The Battle of Titans – World’s Biggest Trucks
When business meets truck engineering, the challenge of building the “biggest” emerges sooner or later. However, the trucks mentioned may as well have been built for an entry in the Guinness Book of Records – the miner’s dump truck.
If you think the multi-axle LGVs are huge, look at a dump truck. An average LGV weighs just over 8 tons, whereas an unloaded miner’s truck will weigh around 250 tons, which is as much as a fully loaded Boeing 747.
Terex MT 6300AC
Terex is a division of General Motors specialising in equipment for heavy industry. They built their first dump truck prototype in 1973 – the Terex Titan was a 20-metre long 3-axle giant with a 3,300 hp V16 diesel engine. It now enjoys retirement in a museum in Canada but Terex went on building megatrucks in series. If you want to buy the current model – the MT 6300AC, be prepared to spend at least $4 million. For that amount of money you get a truck that can haul a neat 400,000 tons around the mine. It’s powered by a 3,750 hp diesel and measures 15.6 metres in length.
Belaz 75601
The Russian Belaz is a symphony of modern heavy industry tech. Although the 14.9 metre vehicle looks bulky, it is extremely agile and manoeuvrable – it can reach the top speed of 40 mph, which is not bad for a car carrying 360 tons of coal at the back. Equipped with an ultramodern electromechanical transmission, self-diagnostic system and a massive air-con and cabin filter to make sure the crew of four don’t breath in too much coal dust, it’s probably as good as your money can buy. Have you ever wondered what the engine displacement of such an enormous vehicle is? It’s powered by a 77.5 litre diesel with an output of 3750 hp. Each wheel of the Belaz costs $30,000 and weighs 8 tons – as much as a whole unloaded LGV. During a 12-hour shift, the vehicle will have consumed 2 tons of diesel fuel.
Pretenders to the Throne
There are many other magnificent megatrucks. The California-based company Caterpillar makes the 797B. At 14.5 metres in length and 380-ton maximum payload it is very close to being the biggest.
The Swiss Liebherr T 282 B is a very capable vehicle. At length of 14.5 metres it can carry as much as 396 tons of ore. This is a great achievement, considering that its engine is a rather “modest” 2,700 hp diesel.
A story of the world’s biggest truck would be incomplete without mentioning the Japan’s effort in building a mega machine. In terms of loading capacity and engine power there’s very little difference between the Hitachi EH5000 and Komatsu 930E-4. Both vehicles boast a 2,700 hp engine. The load capacity is 315 and 320 tons respectively, however, the Hitachi is a more compact vehicle. At 14.4 metres in length and 7.2 metres in height, it’s the best choice for smaller mines.
The race for the title of the world’s biggest truck is still on. With the mining industry on the rise in South America and Asia, surely the engineers haven’t said the last word yet. One has to bear in mind that the size (especially the width) of the trucks is limited by what is accepted from the standpoint of safety. Many open mines have tracks laid out in a spiral across the outer edge of the mine so that the trucks ascend and descend using the spiral as the road. Making the vehicles wider would create a safety issue and a risk of the crew tumbling down into the abyss. However, it is possible to increase the load capacity of these magnificent cars. It’s only the matter of time when we have a 500-ton dump truck working in the world’s most challenging mines.
Luxury Car Sales Jump Helps GKN Boost Profits
British automotive and airplane parts maker GKN has seen profits soar as the demand for luxury cars worldwide has shot up. The main reason for the massive profits increase is due to GKN’s Driveline business, which produces car parts such as chassis, axles and drive shafts. The sales rose from £1.3billion to £1.7billion at Driveline because of extended demand from buyers outside of Europe for European luxury cars. This division helped GKN to report that pre tax profits have rose by 33% to £266million, as sales are up 16% to £3.4billion for the first half of 2012.
Although car sales are down in Europe by 7%, luxury sales have maintained strong, with especially strong markets being in areas such as China and North Europe. Luxury carmakers like Mercedes-Benz have seen an uptick in sales due to this demand, which has in turn helped GKN. GKN produces components for range of luxury cars, from Land Rovers to Mercedes MPV cars.
GKN employs 6,000 staff in Britain, with chief executive Nigel Stein saying, “The UK is very important to us. The automotive market, in particular, is going through something of a renaissance and we’ve been growing staff numbers all the time. We’ve seen increases in every single division over the last six months. Our automotive division has outgrown the market in North America, China and Europe. Brand names are very popular in China, and that has helped us in that market.”
GKN also produces aircraft parts for Airbus and Boeing which has helped them to increase their profits further, as this part of the business reported a 8% profit with a number of civil aerospace programs increasing their budget, offsetting declining military sales. With more fuel efficient airplanes being ordered by Airbus and rival Boeing this has resulted in another increase for GKN.
However, all news is not positive at GKN with Airbus announcing last week that a production glitch has caused a three month delay in the A350 production. “On the A350 we have overcome difficulties and are doing well,” said Stein. “We are able to satisfy Airbus’ demand on the A350. The effect is minimal in terms of the slight delay they announced last week and I don’t think the financial impact will be large.”
These developments have seen GKN shares rise by 14% in 2012, which values GKN at £3.4 billion. This share rise, including the high profits, have allowed GKN to purchase the aerospace business of Volvo for $990 million.
